Frame.io faced increasing competition and shifting market demands for video and image collaboration. Customer feedback revealed critical inefficiencies in the commenting system: disconnected feedback from visuals, cumbersome single-frame viewing, and inadequate remote collaboration tools.

Leadership & Execution:

As Senior Product Manager, I led end-to-end development from concept to launch in 8 weeks:

Managed stakeholder expectations between VP Design, CEO, and VP Engineering while prioritizing user research insights
Drove technical decisions to meet strict performance requirements (0 dropped frames in video playback)
Balanced UX complexity by introducing a toggle system to resolve conflicts between existing annotations and new point & click features
Executed rapid prototyping and user testing to validate design decisions

Refactored heavyweight commenting component to maintain video performance

Key Learnings:

Early system-wide user testing could have prevented initial friction between commenting features and v3 video player UX, and stakeholder requests
